The Audience Jury, presided by the Italian director Marco Turco, assigned the EuropaCinema Platinum Award to the best Spanish long feature film:

La caja by Juan Carlos Falcón Rivero

For the extraordinary ability to tell, through a small tale of a small fishermen’s village, not only the greater story of their own country, but also the universal events of the “human comedy”. For the stylistic maturity that revealing the deep roots of the best Spanish cinema suggests an original and personal analysis. For the wise and measured cast’s direction that gives to the story a deep savour of truth. An harmonious film of great quality that strikes even more considering that “La caja” is the first feature film of Juan Carlos Falcón.
