2007 Winners

The Audience Jury, presided by the Italian director Marco Turco, assigned the EuropaCinema Platinum Award to the best Spanish long feature film:

 

 

  • La caja by Juan Carlos Falcón Rivero

For the extraordinary ability to tell, through a small tale of a small fishermen’s village, not only the greater story of their own country, but also the universal events of the “human comedy”. For the stylistic maturity that revealing the deep roots of the best Spanish cinema suggests an original and personal analysis. For the wise and measured cast’s direction that gives to the story a deep savour of truth. An harmonious film of great quality that strikes even more considering that “La caja” is the first feature film of Juan Carlos Falcón.

The Audience Jury also assigned a special mention to:

 

  • Tu vida en 65 minutos by Maria Ripoll

For great sensibility and lightness with which the author dealt with such a delicate theme deeply felt not only by the Spanish young generation but by the young people from all over the world.

The Audience Jury assigned the EuropaCinema Platinum Award to the best Spanish short film:

 

  • Ludoterapia by Elías León Siminiani

For its ability in using cinematographic and meta-cinematographic language, melting together with originality reality and fiction.

The Audience Jury also assigned a special mention to the short film:

 

  • La leyenda del hombre lento by Armando Del Rio

For the original idea and the technical-narrative skills.
